There has been a lot of talk regarding the trade package that featured as many as six draft picks that the Hornets rejected in favour of selecting Frank Kaminsky with the 9th pick of the 2015 Draft. He will be sharing time with the likes of former lottery picks Cody Zeller and Tyler Hansbrough at power forward which may hinder his chances at a run at Rookie of the Year.

He has shot nearly 43% from the three point line during the Summer League and Pre-Season and has averaged a very respectable 11 points and just short of 7 rebounds in only twenty five minutes per game. When up against tougher opposition during the Pre-Season, Kaminsky has only been able to shoot 36% from the field in five games, that aspect of his game should improve as he gets used to the day to day grind of NBA Basketball.

If he can beat out Zeller for the starting power forward position and help lead the Hornets to the playoffs then he may well be one of the dark horses for Rookie of the Year.
