Considered by many as one of the steals of the draft when the Heat selected him with the 10th pick. He goes to a team that has significant post season aspirations. He will be stuck behind veteran small forward, Luol Deng, but should receive somewhere in the region of twenty to twenty five minutes a game off the bench to begin with, including time spent at both Shooting Guard and as a small ball Power Forward. Deng hasn’t managed to play more than 75 games since the 2010/11 season and with him turning 31 during the season, Winslow may benefit for extended runs in his absence.

He should be able to help from day one on the defensive end and should get a number of good looks on offense given the teammates that will surround him. His shooting stroke needs to improve after shooting only 32% from the field and a disappointing 20% from the three point line.

Unless Deng misses significant time Winslow’s ceiling during his rookie season will be capped at about 10 points to go along with 5 rebounds and unlikely to put him in the conversation for Rookie of the Year.
