The Oklahoma City Thunder are still just letting Russell Westbrook be Russell Westbrook.

As if they had a choice in the matter.

Westbrook is putting on a statstical tour-de-force through 12 games this season, currently third in scoring in the NBA with 28.1 points per game, and leads the NBA with 10.4 assists per game.

Westbrook has upped his efficiency this season is relation to his effort last year. He is shooting a career-high from the floor of 46.8%, a full 42 percentage points higher than the mark he set last year. He’s also shooting a career high from long-range of 34.8% which is a career high by 18 percentage points over his previous high back in 2010-11.

He turns the ball over a bit too much, averaging 5.1 turnovers per game, but when you have the ball in your hands as much as Russ does and you play with the fury and aggression he does, turnovers are just going to be part of the equation.
