Much like the Golden State Warriors season so far, there’s no drama here at the top of these MVP rankings with Steph Curry leading the pack. The defending league MVP and sharpshooter extraordinaire has put on a show for the ages for the 13-0 Warriors, leading the league in scoring and putting up astonishing shooting numbers for a guy who has taken 11.5 three-pointers per game.

While Westbrook, LeBron, Griffin and Drummond are the thunder of these rankings, Curry is the lightning. He can strike without warning from anywhere, and he leaves defenses scorched irreparably.

Steph Curry is the straw stirring the drink in Warrior country, and as long as he is healthy and hot the Dubs are virtually unbeatable even from a game-to-game standpoint. It’s almost unfathomable to think that another team could take four out of seven games from the Warriors in a playoff series.

While the NBA’s MVP race features guys like the aforementioned stars who can jump up and bite Curry if he lets off the gas pedal, it’s hard to imagine Steph cooling down. There is no doubt that he’s experiencing the favorable side of variance, but he is also the only guy who can take the shots he takes, and the only guy who can make those shots.

Steph Curry is transcendent at this point, and teams across the NBA are powerless to do anything about it.
