Henry Ellenson

Impressive showing from Ellenson who started out quiet early in the game. He finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. He didn’t shoot the ball well (4/13) from the field, but his shot selection was terrific. I chalk his poor shooting percentage up to nerves.

Once Ellenson got going, he really got going.

He hit a three and followed it up with another one shortly thereafter. From there, Ellenson displayed his impressive ball handling getting to the rim almost at will against his defenders. When Ellenson is attacking from the perimeter, big men are going to have a hard time staying in front of him.

The one area I would like to see him improving moving forward is his shots from the post–he didn’t do it enough. He’s got such an array of skills offensively–and he does those things so well–that he looks to settle a little too often for outside shots.

Even with some tough shooting (even his misses looked really good) it was a very positive showing for Ellenson and the Pistons.
