Final Thoughts:

After taking a look at these stats, scouting reports and watching tape, I feel confident the Detroit Pistons have made a very good pick by selecting Kennard.

As far as his NBA comparisons go, he is much closer to J.J. Redick than Kyle Korver thanks to his advanced offensive repertoire, and he should come in and be much more than a three-point specialist. It seems pretty reasonable based on scouting reports and stats that Kennard could have very similar production to Redick.

As discussed, the strengths and weaknesses out of college were almost the same, and if we consider the college stats, Kennard actually edges out Redick in quite a few statistical categories. If Kennard could carve out a similar career to Redick’s I imagine that the Detroit Pistons and all their fans would be pretty happy.

As far as I’m concerned, the Detroit Pistons made the right pick.
