The Detroit Pistons and rookie shooting guard Luke Kennard have agreed to terms on his rookie contract.

The Detroit Pistons will take the court today for their first game in the Orlando Summer League, but the team has been busy off the court too.

Just hours ago, the team unofficially signed Langston Galloway to a three year $21 million deal.

Now, it looks like the Pistons have marked another to-do off their list, signing rookie shooting guard Luke Kennard, whom they drafted with the 12th overall pick.

NBA rookie scale creates an easy environment for teams and draft picks to agree on contract terms, so this is hardly a shocker.

Still, it has to feel good for both sides to get this taken care of, before Kennard hits the court officially.

With his contract out of the way, Kennard now just needs to focus on playing smart basketball and proving he is capable of carving out minutes into Stan Van Gundy’s team–something Van Gundy himself has said is a possibility.
