After an ugly loss Friday night in Washington, the Detroit Pistons look to bounce back against Saturday night against the Philidelphia 76ers.

It was not a pretty second half Friday night for the Detroit Pistons.

More from PistonPowered

After overcoming the Boston Celtics, dismantling the the Phoenix Suns, and leading the Washington Wizards at half time, 52-46, the Detroit Pistons proved human in the second half and were downed by the John Wall-less Wizards, 109-91.

The Wizards started the second half on a 17-0 run and forced Detroit in a position to, again, play from behind.

Unfortunately, Friday night was not the night the Pistons would make a Detroit-like heroic comeback.

Again, even though the Pistons had won nine of the past twelve and showcased dominate play entering Capital One Arena, Friday’s loss could not have been more of frustrating.

Not only did the Wizards win at large with out John Wall, though the Wizards’ physical defense caused Detroit to play with frustration and discomfort: incapable of producing much offense and making key stops down the stretch.

Now, entering Saturday night, Detroit travels to Philadelphia to compete with the well-rounded and young 76ers squad headed by Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

The last time the two teams met was October 23rd where the 76ers overcame Detroit in Little Caesars Arena, 97-86.

Most memorable from the previous matchup was Joel Embiid’s dominate performance and “call-out” against Andre Drummond as he criticized Detroit’s big-man for his lack of defense.

Next: What is ceiling for Detroit Pistons’ Andre Drummond?

Fortunately for the Detroit Pistons, Saturday night will be a game they will be extra-driven to win due to Friday night’s disappointment.

Saturday night will also serve as a vengeance game for Andre Drummond looking to prove he, in-fact, is capable of playing lockdown defense.
