The Detroit Pistons are shopping Avery Bradely, and the team is wanting a “significant” return. Many deals are probably being discussed behind closed doors, but we know of at least one that has been offered. According to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, the Los Angeles Lakers have made Jordan Clarkson available for Avery Bradley.
The Detroit Pistons have made Avery Bradley available for trade per Adrian Wojnarwoski of ESPN.
But what will the Pistons be able to net from a Bradley trade, if anything?
Early reports indicate that the Pistons are looking for a “significant return”, whatever that may be.
While we do not know exactly what the Pistons are wanting in return, we do have one rumor that has surfaced so far, via Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
This is a trade that I do not want to see go down.
Nothing against Clarkson, but I would much rather the Pistons clear cap space and/or acquire a lottery caliber first round draft pick.
Preferably a lottery first round draft pick, above all else.
Such a deal could exist, as we have discussed in a recent post.
Bradley makes a lot of sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cavaliers have the Brooklyn Nets’ first round pick.
The Cavaliers, under normal circumstances, might not want to part with that pick, but an argument could be made that adding Bradley could greatly improve the team’s chances of returning to the finals and going toe-to-toe with the Golden State Warriors, presuming the Warriors make it to the finals as well.
Next: Detroit Pistons shopping Avery Bradley
It’s a steep price, but it could work. Even if a deal such as this doesn’t materialize, the Pistons should focus on netting cap relief and/or future first round picks. That is, unless the team can somehow land a star player.
