Would You Rather: Ex-Detroit Pistons Edition
By Curtis Brown
Shooting Guard: Reggie Bullock versus Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Current Pistons shooting guard: Reggie Bullock
Reggie Bullock’s confidence and game has been getting better as full time starter since the addition of Blake Griffin. For the year he is averaging 10.3 points with 48.1 percent from the field, and 42.7 percent from three in 26.8 minutes per game. However, in the 14 games with Blake Griffin he is averaging 14.4 points in 33.2 minutes per game.
Ex-Pistons shooting guard: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
To be honest, I wanted the Pistons to re-sign Caldwell-Pope in the off-season, though I understood why they didn’t. He is good shooter and was always seen as a good defender. This season so far with the Los Angeles Lakers he has been averaging 13.6 points with 43.1 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from three in 33 minutes per game. This spot could have gone to Avery Bradley as well, but since becoming a Los Angeles Clipper he is only averaging 9.2 points per game while hitting only 11.1 percent on threes.
Honorable mention: Avery Bradley of the Clippers averaging 14.3 points per game for the year.
Not so honorable mention: Arron Afflalo averaging a career low 3.2 points per game in 12.8 minutes per game for the Orlando Magic.
So, would you rather have Bullock or Caldwell-Pope?
This is probably a biased decision based on the fact that I watch Bullock every night on the court and rarely see Caldwell-Pope play anymore, but I am taking Bullock here all day. Bullock is shooting better than Caldwell-Pope, and since the trade for Griffin, scoring more. Bullock is more than just a three-and-D player, he is turning into a versatile offensive weapon.
This choice was easy.
I would rather have Bullock.
