Who might the Detroit Pistons target in the 2018 NBA draft?

Donte DiVencenzo – Point Guard, Sophomore, Villanova

Let’s start with NCAA Champion, “The Michael Jordan of Delaware,” also known as “The Big Ragu,” Donte DiVencenzo. DiVencenzo is a really interesting prospect because of his streaky nature. He was the sixth-man for the Villanova Wildcats averaging 13.4 points per game last season. He’s a guy who can explode for 30 points off the bench seemingly out of nowhere.

This was most evident in the 2018 National Championship game when DiVencenzo dropped 31 points, five rebounds, and three assists on the Michigan Wolverines (sorry Michigan fans). He took home the award for Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four, and will go down in history for his performance that night.

He isn’t a transcendent defensive player, but he works hard on that end of the floor. However, he and Luke Kennard are both afflicted with shorter arms for NBA players so that could lead to some defensive issues down the road. But as a guy who can come in from day one and be an energetic scorer and playmaker off the bench. DiVencenzo is a player I’d love to see in blue and red.

He’s currently projected to go at the end of the first round, so the Pistons drafting him would be a surprise, but a pleasant one.
