Who might the Detroit Pistons target in the 2018 NBA draft?

Jarred Vanderbilt – Small Forward, Kentucky, Freshman

I started this article off by stating that every team is looking for a defensively versatile wing who can shoot. Well, Jarred Vanderbilt can give you at least one of those things. Last season, he was one of the most impressive, energetic defenders in college basketball. He also only attempted one three-pointer the entire season and didn’t look great shooting closer to the basket either.

He would certainly be a project on the offensive end (except for his playmaking which is surprisingly solid). However, his insane defensive play would get him minutes from day one and someday he could be a Luc Mbah a Moute type. I’ve seen him compared to Dennis Rodman before, and I know us Pistons fans love guys like that (see: Ben Wallace).

I’d be excited about having him on the team, but his offense might be so offensive (pardon my pun) it wouldn’t be worth it.
