Each Detroit Pistons player’s journey to the NBA
Tim Frazier
The Houston, Texas, native will be playing in his sixth NBA season this fall. Tim Frazier went to Strake Jesuit High School and was recruited by likes of Stanford, TCU, Bradley, New Mexico State and Penn State. He played college ball for the Big Ten school, Penn State University. In 2012, and 2014 he made the All-Big Ten First Team and All-Big Ten Third Team. Frazier also holds the Nittany Lions career assists record.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft, he made his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers on a 10-day contract and has been in the league since. Frazier has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trailblazers and Washington Wizards before signing with Detroit Pistons this upcoming season.
He brings veteran savviness off the bench and has a true knack for finding open players in half court settings. He brings a true floor general presence when on the court. Although he lacks elite shooting, he makes up for it with his scrappy competitiveness nature. Frazier works well when he is penetrating the defense and getting into lane to create opportunities for his teammates. Detroit has a solid facilitator coming off the bench.
Frazier can be looked upon to provide insurances for Derrick Rose, in case he sits out due to injuries or game rest (Load Management ). Detroit could also decide to put the two on the floor together with Frazier at point guard and Rose at shooting guard. Whatever happens Detroit looks to have better options this upcoming season.
