Bruce Brown Jr.

Brown is from Wakefield, Massachusetts, and played his high school basketball career at Vermont Academy. In 2016, Brown was ranked 26 in ESPN Top100 high basketball players in the country.

The former five-star recruit was highly pursued by dozens of big-time college D-1 program in the country.  Brown chose to play college ball in the Atlantic Coast Conference  (ACC) for the University of Miami (FL). He averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game in college.

After his sophomore year, brown  decided to enter the 2018 NBA Draft. He heard his name called with 42nd overall pick by the Detroit Pistons. The young and energetic, 23 year-old guard is entering his second season in the NBA.

Brown showed off his defensive capabilities in his rookie season. He is stellar on that side of the ball. However, Brown is coming off an impressive Summer League campaign in which he recored a triple-double and averaged13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game.

It seems as if Brown has worked on the weakest parts of his game this offseason. His offensive game appears more polished and there is a desire to continue to improve his jump shot. There were times last season where Brown seemed erratic when trying to score in traffic.

There looks to be a clear plan in place by Dewayne Casey and his coaching staff to developed Brown to an elite two-way player. The Pistons will look to see just how far his game has progress this upcoming season.
