Svi Mykhailiuk

The 22-year-old sharpshooting forward is from Cherkasy, Ukraine. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk attended Cherkas, Mavpy High School. He was drafted by the Los Angles Lakers in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft. He was traded to Detroit this past season in a deal that sent former Pistons Reggie Bullock to Lakers.

Mykhailiuk played college ball in the Big 12 Conference for University of Kansas. In 2017-18 college season he made All-Big12 second team. He was praised for his incredible leap his senior year at Kansas, he averaged 14 points per game while shooting 44 percent beyond the arc.

The NBA is a “make or miss” league and Mykhailiuk is more on the make side of it. The Pistons were ranked 23rd in 3-point percentage last season. That’s horrible for a team ranked sixth for most 3-point attempts.

Research points to the Pistons desire to shoot three’s even though they don’t make a lot of them is disastrous. Not only can Mykhailiuk make three’s but he is deadly with them. That kind of 3-point shooting opens up more room for whoever he is on the floor with.

The game is easier when you have a guy who can hit open shots consistently. He will get more chances this upcoming season to do what he does best, shoot that rock kid.
