Markieff Morris

The eight-year veteran played ball for University of Kansas. Markieff Morris is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went to APEX Academies High School. He was ranked by Rivals as a top-50 High School Basketball player in the country .

The former Jayhawk made the 2010-11 All-Big 12 Second team. It was his Junior year where he garnered buzz from the NBA and opted to go pro. Morris was apart of the 2011 NBA Draft class. He was selected in the first round with the13th pick by the Phoenix Suns.

He has played for Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, and Oklahoma City Thunder before signing with Detroit Pistons this summer. He is the twin brother of Marcus Morris who, too, once played for the Detroit Pistons. Markieff is bigger and tougher competitor while Marcus is the most versatile.

Morris brings size to a bench that has lacked much of it last season and physical toughness. While he has experience being a starter in this league, it will be his bench production that will help the Pistons. The pistons struggled last years with their second unit by a wide margin.

Morris has averaged doubled figures in scoring in six of the eight seasons he has been in the league.
