Bone’s outlook
In his rookie season, Bone needs to focus on development and adding to his quickness that will allow him to transition nicely to the NBA’s speed of the game.
He needs to get noticeably stronger to handle the durability of a NBA season and improve as a defensive player. In the future he’s a candidate to play either guard position with his 6-foot-3 frame and speed. He’d be able to switch on the perimeter and hold his own with added strength.
Bone’s mid-range jumper and ability to finish around the rim will be his greatest assets to the Pistons this season.
Detroit signed Bone to a two-way contract after selecting him in the second round of the draft. His next deal could allow him to grow into a quality rotational player for the Pistons, giving them extra insurance at point guard.

His immediate future appears to be a rotational point guard but, depending on his development, he could turn into a starting point guard, even if it’s just situational. His 3-point shot and strength will be determining factors as he rounds out his game.
