Detroit Pistons: Analyzing Hooper’s schedule release skit games
Thursday November 9, Monday January 27, Cleveland
Cleveland’s best acquisition this season won’t show up on any roster or transaction article, hiring John Beilein. What made Beilein so famous and successful was his player development and with the young Cavaliers roster, Beilein’s got his work cut out for him.
The Cavs already are looking better than the first time LeBron left them. Due to the Cavs horrendous cap situation, Cleveland let David Nwaba and Cameron Payne walk, and waived J.R. Smith. The additions to Cleveland’s team were all through the draft.
With the fifth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft the Cleveland Cavaliers select… Darius Garland. Garland was one of my personal favorite players in this class, but the fit doesn’t make sense. His play style is similar to Damian Lillard but the Cavs drafted Collin Sexton last year so this will make for an interesting season.
The other picks were Dylan Windler and Kevin Porter Jr., solid picks for a team rebuilding for years to come as they are all boom or bust. At least one of these three, or Sexton, will be a star so Beilein was a good idea to get the best out of these young pieces.
The Cavs always give the Pistons a good game so these games should be good. While the Cavaliers will be one of the teams in the basement this season, they have a solid young core and have acquired some picks for the future, really setting up the Cavs for a solid rebuild.
While this game won’t be one of the best, you’ll see a great performance from the Pistons in both of these games, plus it’ll be great to see Beilein coach again.
