Predictions

Game 1: Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena
Game 2: Dec. 18, 7 p.m. at Little Caesar’s Arena
Game 3: Jan. 31, 7 p.m. at Little Caesar’s Arena
Game 4: March 14, 7:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena

Detroit swept the Raptors last season, but I don’t expect that to happen again, even with the loss of Leonard. Detroit has an advantage on Jan. 31st, as Toronto will be on the second game of a back-to-back after playing the previous night in Cleveland. I think Detroit will win the other home game as well and split in Toronto, going 3-1, potentially leapfrogging the Raptors in the standings in the process. It’s likely that Detroit and Toronto will be battling it out in the competitive middle of the Eastern Conference, so these games could be the difference between a 5 seed and an 8.

Prediction: Pistons win 3-1
