Detroit Pistons player grades in 117-100 loss to Atlanta Hawks

Small forward
Tony Snell: B-
Tony Snell had a relatively quiet night against the Hawks, but that’s kind of what he does. His stat line isn’t overwhelming, nine points, two assists, and two rebounds, but his defense was solid and he often made the right play at the right time.
Though his numbers aren’t dynamic, Snell held his own out there last night, all things considered. He didn’t have a great second half, but that was common of the entire team. With his defense and solid three-point shooting, the Pistons are certainly happy to finally have a legitimate small forward, even on quitter nights like this.
Langston Galloway: B
On a night where Young could not be stopped, Galloway came the closest to getting the job done. This alone bumps his grade up drastically, for it seemed as though Young could’ve gone off for 50 or more if somebody didn’t step up. While Galloway wasn’t able to completely neutralize Young, he was consistent and strong on defense, making Young have to work a little bit for his points.
On the offensive end, Galloway struggled from the field. Though he hit a couple of huge three’s in the first half, including a buzzer beater in the final seconds of the second quarter, he finished just 2-for-7 from deep and disappeared near the end.
His defense was enough to bump him up to a “B” this time, and hopefully next game he can bring some more offense with him as well.
