Daily fantasy sports tips

If you’re new to daily fantasy sports (DFS) check out our quick-tips guide with key terminology, scoring and more useful information before getting into the rest of this story.

Building blocks

Andre Drummond – $9,300 on DraftKings (value at 46.5 DKFP) and $10,300 on FanDuel (value at 51.5 FDFP)

It’ll be hard for Drummond to replicate a 32-point, 23-rebound performance like he did in the season opener. He also had four blocks and three steals. That was good for 78.3 DKFP and 81.6 FDFP on opening night. But that shows the dominance that Drummond has on Myles Turner. With a higher usage rate due to the injury list, it’s a prime opportunity for Drummond to have another monster night.

Malcolm Brogdon – $6,900 on DraftKings (value at 34.5 DKFP) and $7,600 on FanDuel (value at 38 FDFP)

Brogdon has turned in a pair of double-doubles and is averaging 50.1 DKFP and 47.8 FDFP through his first two games. Unfortunately for the Pacers, it hasn’t led to wins, but for DFS players its a great spot. The Pistons have not been good defending the perimeter and Brogdon is playing 35 minutes per game and is getting it done scoring at all three levels and dishing it out.

Values

T.J. McConnell – $3,100 on DraftKings (value at 15.5 DKFP) and $3,600 on FanDuel (value at 18 FDFP)

More from PistonPowered

McConnell is only 3-for-10 shooting this season, so there’s room for opportunity. He got a seven minute bump when Lamb sat out in Cleveland on Saturday. He could also play alongside Brogdon to give his backcourt ‘mate better scoring opportunities off the ball. There’s plenty of room for McConnell to trend upwards.

Markieff Morris – $4,600 on DraftKings (value at 23 DKFP) and $5,000 on FanDuel (value at 25 FDFP)

Morris is off the injury report for the first time this season and looked healthy in Saturday’s game against Philadelphia, posting a line of 17-6-1-1-2 and scoring 31 DKFP and 30.7 FDFP. He did that on seven shot attempts and with Griffin out should continue to receive around 25 minutes per game. He’s a better cash game option than a GPP.

Derrick Rose – $5,400 on DraftKings (value at 27 DKFP) and $6,500 on FanDuel (value at 32.5 FDFP)

Rose’s price is quickly rising but he’s still a good cash game option on both platforms, though there’s likely better value on FanDuel. He’s coming off a 31-point performance with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals. That was good for 46.8 DKFP and 48.1 FDFP but that may be his ceiling. He’s stuck on a 25-to-27 minutes restriction and he’s coming off a season-high 21 shots against Philadelphia, and that was with Jackson out. His value is better if Jackson is out again.
