Andre Drummond

You can’t have a list of the top Pistons without including Andre Drummond. The Big Penguin. the 20/20 machine. While there are many skeptics and critics out there over Drummond’s overall impact on game, there are just as many supporters.

At the end of the day, he’s not only the top rebounder in today’s NBA, but he’s undoubtedly one of the greatest rebounders of all time. He currently has the highest rebounding percentage in the history – yes history – of the NBA.

More from PistonPowered

While he’s admittedly had his struggles recently, he kicked off the season with a 32 point and 23 rebound outing in a win over the Indiana Pacers. In what will inevitably be a contract year (as he’s more or less confirmed he will opt-out this summer and become a free agent) it’s imperative that he showcases his abilities.

His rim protection has improved year after year, and his ability to control his body while attacking the basket has been remarkable to witness this season.

Drummond has four 20/20 games this season, and three of them came in succession. His dominance in the low-post on both ends of the floor is an ever improving spectacle. Even his free throw shooting ability is beginning to improve, which has long been biggest knock on his game.

There’s a chance that he could receive a super-max contract from Detroit this off-season if he’s able to land an All-NBA honor. Whatever he’s paid, it goes without say that he’ll earn it.

Whatever happens this summer, we’re thankful for what he’s given Detroit.
