The Detroit Pistons have yet to win back-to-back games this season and Tuesday gives them a great opportunity with a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kevin Love only played in 16 games in an injury-ridden season with the Cleveland Cavaliers so when they host the Detroit Pistons, it’ll be their first game against Love since Jan. 30, 2018.

For the Pistons, it’ll be their first opportunity to win back-to-back games during the 2019-20 season. Following a 132-98 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, Detroit’s starters will be well-rested.

Injury reports

The Detroit Pistons have an addition to their injury report, adding Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk as probable with a right knee bruise. Rookie Sekou Doumbouya is not on the report, meaning he’ll likely accompany the Pistons to Cleveland after practicing with them on Tuesday. Doumbouya scored his first career points in Sunday’s win over the Spurs.

The Cavaliers have a pair of forwards questionable. Young wing Cedi Osman and veteran forward John Henson will likely go through afternoon shootaround and may be elevated to game-time decisions. Cleveland hasn’t played since Friday. Cavs rookie Dylan Windler remains out.

DFS tips

Kevin Love has been struggling as of late. In three of his last five games he has taken eight shots or fewer. His rebounding numbers (11.1 per game this season) will likely suffer with the league’s best, Andre Drummond on the floor. Speaking of Drummond, he’ll go up against a talented rebounder in Tristan Thompson but Drummond has won the rebounding battle 22 times in 27 games. It’s a good spot for Drummond but at a price tag in excess of $9,000 it makes exceeding value tough.

Guard play is the key to this game with points to be had on both ends. Derrick Rose is worth a look at $5,500 since his assist-to-turnover ratio has drastically improved over the last five games. He’s shooting 49.7% for the season and 38.2% from 3-point range. With assist upside he should fare well.

Collin Sexton has five or more assists in three of his last five games, giving an upside to his 17.8 points per game scoring figure. It’s a fair cash game play at $5,400 on DraftKings but his ceiling isn’t as high given he’s primarily a driver and the Pistons are solid with frontcourt defense.

Bruce Brown is an intriguing GPP play against the Cavs, who aren’t great defensively at any position. At $4,200, he should have scoring upside to reach double figures, he’s a solid rebounder and is averaging 3.7 assists per game and steals upside, too. A lot has to go right to help a GPP win but it’s a good spot.

It’ll be a key game for the Pistons, not just because they could win two-straight, but because Cleveland has lost three straight and is starting to lose ground in the playoff hunt for the eighth seed.
