Langston Galloway

One of the trickier decisions the Pistons will have to make this summer is whether or not they should bring back Langston Galloway. One of the team’s most reliable wings over the last few years deserves to be rewarded with a new contract.

He doesn’t necessarily put Detroit over any win mark that would be detrimental to their draft selection, he’s not transcending the team into something they weren’t already, he’s just a solid role player.

More from PistonPowered

He’s a guy who you want on your team. A fantastic teammate and a reliable perimeter threat. He has his cold stretches like any shooter does, but when Galloway is on, he is on.

In 2017 he signed a three year contract with the Pistons worth $21 million. In the event that he’s re-signed, fans should expect to see that figure stay the same. If anything, they might get him down to a two year contract to maintain future flexibility.

However, a serviceable perimeter player is a hot commodity in today’s NBA. A team like the Sixers (no matter how tax-pressed they may be) needs a player like Galloway. Team’s that are entering or are in the midst of a championship window are always looking to add more shooting.

So because of this, it’s entirely within the realm of possibility to assume that he could take his talents elsewhere next season in pursuit of a championship.
