Detroit Pistons: Possible draft pick from Houston- Quentin Grimes

Quentin Grimes is another guy who is projected to go in the second round who might catch the Pistons’ eye.

He too fits the profile of what the Pistons are building, as he is a versatile perimeter player with size who can defend multiple spots.

Grimes is a big shooting guard at 6-foot-5 and uses his long wingspan to disrupt passing lanes and get steals.

He is also a very good 3-point shooter, which is something the Pistons could definitely use. Grimes has hit 41 percent of his long range shots on over eight attempts a game, numbers that should translate to the next level.

Even though the Detroit Pistons already have a couple of guys in Josh Jackson and Hamidou Diallo who provide defense from the two-guard position, they could use an injection of 3-point shooting, especially after shipping Svi Mykhailiuk to OKC.

Grimes could provide that shooting off the bench, can defend his position and has shown the kind of toughness that Troy Weaver obviously likes.

Grimes has probably helped his draft status with a strong tournament and could have worked his way into the first round. If not, he’ll be a guy the Pistons will take a look at with one of their second-round picks.
