Detroit Pistons: Saddiq Bey’s run at the rookie record

When your team is bad, you look for things to be happy about.

One of those things this season has been Saddiq Bey, who has already broken the Pistons’ record for 3-pointers made by a rookie.

He is also at the top of an elite list of rookie shooters that includes current and future Hall-of-Famers, so Bey’s rookie season has been a success by just about any measure.

But it would be nice for Bey to put the finishing touches on this season by breaking the All-Time NBA record for 3-pointers made by a rookie.

Bey is just 67 made 3-pointers away from tying Donovan Mitchell’s All-Time rookie record, so needs to average 3.7 made threes per game to get it done.

He had five against the Clippers in the last matchup and will look to have another big night as he chases history.

It makes it even sweeter that he’ll be doing it against the guy he was traded for, Luke Kennard, who has been a big disappointment for the Clippers.

If Bey can make six or more, he would break another rookie record for most games with at least six made 3’s by a rookie, so I’d love to see Bey come out and break some records against Kennard and the Clippers.
