Free agent signing for Detroit Pistons: Kelly Olynyk

If Kelly Olynyk has any common sense he’ll want out of Houston this summer. The veteran forward does not want to be a part of a rebuild, and if Detroit makes the right moves this summer they could be on the come-up.

An efficient scorer and a poor defender, he would need to commit to being more of a passer and less than a shooter, which is unfortunate since his shooting is the best part of his game.

Would he be the best fit? Absolutely not.

But Olynyk has proven over the past five seasons with Miami and Houston that he’s a serviceable starter who could fill the role Grant would leave,

However, if Grant leaving resulted in more young talent coming to Detroit to pick up the slack, Olynyk could fill the bill.
