Detroit Pistons: The Pistons need a shooter

The Pistons have a lot of similar players in Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo and even Jerami Grant, as they are slashers who do most of their offensive work inside of the 3-point line.

They lack shooters to spread the floor, which makes the Pistons one of the easier teams in the NBA to defend even though they’ve had good ball movement for most of the season.

The Pistons have the slashers and passers, but they just need the guy who can spread the floor and make teams pay for collapsing into the lane.

A shooter would open up more space for Grant,  Jackson and Hayes to penetrate and will give them an option to kick out to when they do.

Grant should be averaging more assists than he does this season but often his kick outs turn into bricks.

The Pistons are just 21st in the NBA in 3-point percentage and attempts so they are not shooting enough of them or making enough of the ones they are shooting.

They might be able to find a shooter with one of their three picks in the second round of the draft, but if not, they will be searching the free agent piles to find a guy other than Saddiq Bey who can consistently give them a scoring threat from behind the arc.
