Detroit Pistons: Where to the Pistons rank defensively?

This is the time of the season when legs start to get tired and shots start clanking.

The Detroit Pistons’ offense has been pretty terrible lately, averaging just 104 points per game over their last ten and failing to even score 100 points several times in that span.

But their defense has gotten a lot better. Dwane Casey wants to have a top-ten defense next season and don’t look now but the Pistons are almost there.

Detroit currently has the 11th-best defense in points allowed per game at 110.9 and has been even better of late, letting up just over 107 per game.

Philly has the 6th-best defense in the NBA, allowing just 108.3 points per game on the season, so this game will likely come down to who plays better on the defensive end, especially considering Philly is on a back-to-back.

I am especially interested to see how Mason Plumlee and Isaiah Stewart do against MVP candidate Joel Embiid. Can Beef Stew keep him away from the basket and force him to shoot jumpers?

This should be a good battle between two quality defenses that keep getting better as the season goes on.
