Detroit Pistons: Frank Jackson’s injury

Frank Jackson had to leave with an apparent ankle injury, which is unfortunate for a couple of reasons.

Jackson had been playing very well, averaging 14.4 points per game over his last ten and doing his best impersonation of Jordan Clarkson in the process.

He was looking at a guy who used hard work and improvement to turn his two-way contract into a full-time deal.

Even though it probably won’t hurt his value too much, it would have been nice for Jackson to finish the season strong and not watching injured from the bench.

Secondly, the Pistons are going to have some tough decisions to make this offseason, especially when it comes to Jackson and fellow free agent Hamidou Diallo.

Signing the two of them would likely eat up most of the Pistons’ cap space and it would have been nice to see them both a bit more to get a sense of how they will fit on this roster moving forward.

Hopefully Jackson’s ankle injury was more of an “injury” and that he’ll get to play again before the season is over, as he has been one of the best stories of the second half for the Detroit Pistons.
