The Detroit Pistons have been putting out some interesting merchandise this season.

The 313 Shop has really leaned into the theme of Detroit and other brands have caught on as well. The Pistons released a “Beef Stew” t-shirt in response to Isaiah Stewart‘s huge popularity with fans on social media.

Adidas dropped a “Bad Boys” themed shoe that pays tribute to the two-time champs, so this has been a great season for Pistons’ gear whether it is repping the new guys or the old school.

The latest collaboration involves comedian Martin Lawrence, whose iconic show “Martin” was one of the few to ever be set in Detroit.

The merch drops on Friday, which should excite fans of both the Pistons and “Martin.”

Detroit Pistons: Where to buy the “Martin” gear

If you are too young to remember, “Martin” was a groundbreaking comedy show that came out in the early 1990’s and was set in Detroit, Michigan.

The show was a spotlight for Lawrence’s talent, as he played several characters including the hilarious Sheneneh Jenkins and former pimp Jerome, both of who might not hold up under the scrutiny of political correctness.

The t-shirts will feature these characters, as well as a references to the 313, so it will be a mashup of the city and one of its most famous shows.

They will sell in the 313 Shop, which like I said, has come out with some much better Pistons’ gear this season than in the past.

Now that the team actually plays their games in the city and not the suburbs, it is nice to see gear that is more focused on Detroit.

A lot of young fans might not know who “Martin” is, but he always repped the city on the show and one of the most famous episodes revolves around a pair of lost Pistons’ tickets.

I don’t know if I’ll be rocking a Sheneneh Pistons’ shirt, but I love the idea and am glad to see a classic show and city getting some love.
