The Detroit Pistons are not likely to make a big splash in NBA Free Agency.

Troy Weaver said as much when he talked about “in-house” improvements being the key for the Detroit Pistons moving forward, so Pistons fans should probably lower their expectations for free agency.

The Pistons will be shopping in the bargain bin when it comes to NBA free agents and that is fine, as Detroit is not currently a free-agent destination and they will need to build through the draft and savvy trades.

We looked at low-cost free agents on all of the Eastern Conference playoff teams and one that stood out to me as a distinct possibility was Furkan Korkmaz of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Detroit Pistons: Needs in NBA Free Agency

The Pistons are going to try and fill most of their needs in the NBA Draft, as they have four picks including one that will be in the top six.

One of their biggest needs is shooting, especially from the two-guard position, as they currently only have Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo and Frank Jackson.

Though Frank Jackson did have a much-improved season from behind the arc, Josh Jackson and Diallo are bricklayers, so the Pistons could certainly use more shooting.

Could Korkmaz provide some of that shooting off the bench? Can he replace some of the shooting the Pistons lost when they traded Luke Kennard and Svi Mykhailiuk? Let’s look a little closer.
