With Plumlee and Stewart taking up most of the big man minutes, I initially see Sandro as a change of pace in there to get out and run on the break, shoot 3s, and run some fun 4-5 pick-and-rolls with the main guys I just listed.

I see Mamukelashvili’s main spot at the four because the skills he brings to the table are a perfect complement to both centers on the Pistons current roster. Beef Stew does the dirty work down low while Sandro handles, runs in transitions, and pops 3s. Plumlee can also hit him out of the post on cuts and for easy corner 3s.

He could also play the five in the second unit with Sekou at the four. Sekou is still trying to find his place on offense so Sandro can help ease his load there while Sekou can set good screens and be a roll man or lob threat for Mamukelashvili. He’d also help out here with guys who are not great shooters like Josh Jackson and Hamidou Diallo to clear the lanes so they can get to the hoop more.

Let me know what you all think in the comments and here’s hoping Sandro Mamukelashvili ends up in the D. Can’t imagine what Mason has in store for his calls!
