Detroit Pistons: Jalen Green should be the selection if Detroit drafts at pick number two

Jalen Green just makes the most sense for Detroit to select if they land the number two overall pick in the upcoming draft. The shooting guard provides scoring and reliable shooting which are both areas of need for Detroit right now.

His struggles on the defensive end of the floor can be coached up, and even as he goes through the growing pains of a developing defender, the rest of the Pistons lineup can lend a hand when he has his lapses on defense. Detroit was 10th in opponent points per game last season, helping Green along should not be too much of an issue.

Mobley has great potential in the NBA, but there are some glaring concerns that come with him. If the 7-0 center is unable to add weight to his slim frame, he will be a target of physical big men, and Mobley will likely be a durability concern if he remains at a 215-pound playing weight.

Green perfectly sliding into the Pistons’ starting lineup is just an added bonus to what he can bring to Detroit. Selecting Green over Mobley will also give Isaiah Stewart the best opportunity to develop his game as well.

While both players would be fine selections for Detroit, Jalen Green fills the most holes for Detroit’s current roster and has the potential to provide much more as his career unfolds.
