Detroit Pistons: Trading the #1 pick in the NBA Draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder

The OKC Thunder are one of the few teams that have the ammunition to move up in the NBA Draft, as they have the combination of young talent and a million future draft picks.

They could put together a godfather offer that the Detroit Pistons would at least have to consider, though it’s a tough sell to your fans to move back five spots when you have the number one pick in the NBA Draft.

The Thunder are throwing out their number six pick along with star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a young 23 point per game scorer who is only under contract for one more season. I will assume that you have some assurances from SGA that he will re-sign with Detroit, otherwise you are playing Russian Roulette with a gun loaded with bullets.

You only do this if you don’t like the top-five picks and think they are all overrated and that you can still get an impact talent at six while picking up future assets.
