Detroit Pistons: Drafting Alperen Şengün with the #6 pick in the NBA Draft

You must watch a LOT of international basketball to be confident enough to make this pick, as fans of the Detroit Pistons are probably not going to be happy trading the number one pick for a guy they’ve never heard of.

But Sengun projects as a versatile big man who can make plays, shoot and rebound, so he would be a nice fit with Beef Stew, as a power forward or center.

  • PG- Killian Hayes/Saben Lee
  • SG- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander/Hamidou Diallo/Frank Jackson
  • SF- Saddiq Bey/Josh Jackson
  • PF- Jerami Grant/Sekou Doumbouya
  • C-Isaiah Stewart/Mason Plumlee/Alperen Sengun

You might have gotten too cute here, as this team has potential but is putting most of the future on the shoulders of SGA, who is good, but is he worth building your team around?

Sengun is too much of an unknown and may not even make an NBA roster right way, as he is a raw prospect, though one who has quality pro experience already.

It’s a risky move that had better pay off right away, as you’ve just staked your job on it. If SGA doesn’t re-sign you are fired and become a pariah in Detroit sports’ history.

You can do better.
