Question 2: Will the Detroit Pistons end up with more than one first-round pick in the NBA Draft?

Right now, the Detroit Pistons own the first overall pick and three additional picks in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Pistons don’t have the roster space to add four more rookies, but this is a very deep draft and they would almost certainly love to grab another guy in the late first round.

This would require trading up, which the Pistons might be able to do with their three second-rounders, by moving a player like Josh Jackson, or by trading future picks.

I could also see the Pistons trading Sekou Doumbouya for a late first round pick if that chance arises, as Weaver didn’t draft him and may not see him as part of the long-term future.

Luckily, there are a number of teams the Pistons could target to move up, including the Knicks, Lakers, Warriors and possibly Pelicans.

All of these teams want to win now and don’t necessarily need another rookie, so the Detroit Pistons should be able to find a taker if they want another first-round pick.

I think Troy Weaver will find a way to get that pick and given his history with late first-rounders, I think he’ll find someone who can make the roster.

But what about the second round?
