Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham can shoot

It’s interesting that one of the things that often gets overlooked when talking about Cade Cunningham is that the guy can really shoot the 3-point shot.

People tend to focus on his size, passing, defense and intangibles but fail to mention that he shot over 40 percent from 3-point range last season and is going to have some huge scoring nights in the NBA.

He put a little of that on display last night, knocking down 7-of-10 from long range and finishing with 24 points and seven rebounds.

He and Killian Hayes had a nice little two-man game going at times and Hayes was able to find Cunningham for several open 3-point shots, including the one that more or less sealed the game.

Cunningham also showed that he can get them himself, pulling up off the dribble a couple of times and nailing them right in the defender’s face.

He and Hayes also played good defense on the perimeter, holding Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride to just 2-of-14 shooting from long range after they had lit up the scoreboard the game before.

Cade Cunningham gave a small glimpse of why he was the overall #1 pick and why many believe he is destined to be a superstar.
