Detroit Pistons: Isaiah Stewart starting is the best thing for his development and the team chemistry moving forward

Most fans in Detroit understand that this restoration is going to take time and will be happy if the Pistons take the next realistic step in their timeline for contention.

While I think Olynyk was a great signing who will help the Detroit Pistons in many ways, in the end, he is not part of the long-term plans.

Isaiah Stewart is, so why not let him get out there and start developing confidence in himself as well as chemistry with other members of the young core, specifically Cade Cunningham, Killian Hayes and Saddiq Bey.

These are the players the Pistons are building around, and since they are not contenders just yet, they should spend this season getting maximum developmental minutes for their young players as a unit.

Like I said, Olynyk is going to get plenty of playing time across both groups, and as a veteran player, he is more prepared to do so, which is why Isaiah Stewart belongs in the starting five with the other members of the core.
