The Detroit Pistons are small and will need a team effort on the glass

The Pistons won the rebounding battle in two of their four preseason games after getting smoked on the glass in the first two games.

They did a much better job against Philly, and we able to keep Andre Drummond in check, though let’s not forget that Philly was missing most of their team including starting center Joel Embiid.

The Pistons are not a big team at center, with just Isaiah Stewart and Kelly Olynyk, who are not traditional centers and play more like power forwards.

Luka Garza is likely to start the season in the G-League, so the Pistons are going to have to rely on a team effort to not get killed on the boards.

This means guys like Saddiq Bey, Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Cade Cunningham and Jerami Grant need to step up and rebound their positions, especially on defense, where the Pistons have to get boards to close out possessions and keep teams from getting extra shots.

This is going to be an issue all season, and the Detroit Pistons are going to need everyone to pitch in on the boards to help out their bigs.
