Detroit Pistons: Saben Lee should be in the rotation

We knew that Saben Lee was likely to spend some time in the G-League this season, as the 2nd-round pick is buried on the depth chart behind Killian Hayes, Cade Cunningham and veteran Cory Joesph.

The question is whether he should be.

Cory Joseph has been awful so far, as has Killian Hayes, though in the case of Hayes some growing pains were expected for the 20-year-old.

Cade Cunningham has played all of 19 minutes, so I am not sure why Saben Lee hasn’t gotten any run this season.

With the Detroit Pistons struggling mightily to create offense, I’d think Lee’s dribble penetration might come in handy in the second unit, but so far he’s been glued to the bench.

I thought Lee might steal some minutes from Hayes at some point this season and I still think that is a possibility, especially if Lee dominates in the G-League.

I understand you want to get your young point guard as many reps as possible, but with the team and Cory Joseph struggling anyway, I’m not sure why those minutes can’t be with the regular team.

But this won’t be the last we see of Saben Lee this season.
