The Detroit Pistons will take on the Houston Rockets tonight in the first regular season matchup between Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green.

Green, the number two pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, is still salty after not going number one and is eager to put up a huge game vs. the Pistons to show that they made a mistake by not choosing him.

Cade Cunningham would love to shut him up, and this will be the game of the night even though the two teams only have two wins between them.

This is a tough game to call, as both teams have been terrible and both rookies have had cold shooting starts to the season. The Rockets’ lone win came against fellow bottom-feeder OKC, while Detroit was able to get their only “W” against the lowly Orlando Magic.

Something has to give tonight and one of these teams will walk away with their second victory. So who is it going to be?

Detroit Pistons vs. Houston Rockets odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Detroit Pistons are 1.5 point underdogs on the road against the Houston Rockets.

The money line is set at -110 for both teams, which indicates that it is basically a toss-up for the bookies. The over/under is set at 210.5, which seems a bit high to me.

The Detroit Pistons have been scoring like a team from 2004, so until they crack 100 points a few times in a row, I’d hammer the under on just about every game.

However, the Detroit Pistons are coming off a four-day holiday and the Rockets have had two days between games as well, so it’s possible both teams will come out re-charged and put up some big numbers.

The Rockets have lost eight in a row since beating OKC in the second game and the Detroit Pistons are on a four-game slide of their own.

Detroit Pistons vs. Houston Rockets predictions

This is going to be a fun game that will feature two of the league’s most exciting young players in Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green.

Both teams have played tough schedules against some of the best teams in the NBA, so they are probably looking forward to playing a team that is on the same level when it comes to age and experience.

I think tonight is the night the Pistons finally break through offensively and put up some big numbers. The Rockets are 23rd in the NBA in points allowed while the Pistons are 9th, so hopefully the Pistons’ defense can stifle the Rocket’s offense and create some easy buckets going the other way.

I also think this is a perfect time for Cade Cunningham to have a breakout game, as Houston could be shorthanded in the backcourt with Kevin Porter Jr. out, so my homer prediction is that the Detroit Pistons will win and Cade will drop at least 20 points.

Detroit Pistons vs. Houston Rockets: How to watch
