Detroit Pistons: #2 – The under-appreciated Jerami Grant

Although his numbers have dipped a little since last season, Jerami Grant is still severely underrated.

With subpar shooting splits early in the season, many began to panic that Jerami Grant had possibly been “figured out” defensively by the rest of the league.

Since then, Grant has turned it around, most notably with huge performances against Houston and Toronto.

But it still doesn’t take long on Twitter to find another post proving that Grant is underrated throughout most of the national media. “Potential” trade packages for Grant, where the Pistons receive peanuts in return, are infuriating (yes, I’m looking at you Boston and Philly).

This all more of the reason to be thankful for Jerami Grant. While most of the attention in Detroit is on the young, hot prospects, Grant continues to show up every night and put up rock solid numbers.

Also, let’s not forget that Grant chose to come to Detroit in free agency, which is not something you see everyday. He willingly chose to be a part of Troy Weaver’s restoration job and is quietly leading the charge without getting much of the shine.

Detroit…don’t take Jerami Grant for granted this holiday season.
