Troy Weaver got the ball rolling by trading Rodney McGruder and a second-round pick for Bol Bol, but the moves won’t stop there for the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons are one of the worst teams in the NBA, and I like that Weaver is willing to roll the dice on guys who might have a chance to thrive in a new environment.

To be honest, I was surprised he was able to get back a guy like Bol Bol for that low a cost, as McGruder wasn’t part of the Pistons’ long-term plans (or anyone else’s) and that second-round pick from the Nets is pretty much worthless.

Bol Bol is hardly the final piece to a title team or anything, but he’s a guy with some talent who may have a chance to become an NBA rotation player with increased reps.

Even if he doesn’t, it was worth the gamble.

I assume any of the Detroit Pistons’ veterans are on the table at this point, and if Weaver can take flyers on other young talent, he may as well.

So who will be next to go? There are three obvious candidates.

Which Detroit Pistons veteran will get traded next?

Cory Joseph

Odds of being traded: Moderate

Possible return: G-League prospect, second-round pick or expiring contract

Cory Joseph’s chances of being traded are moderate in my opinion. Even though he has shown himself to be a competent 3rd point guard-type, he still has a player option for next season at just over $5 million and I am not sure he is competent enough for some other team to bite.

If so, the Pistons aren’t going to get much other than maybe an expiring deal or maybe a G-league prospect. Detroit also needs some type of veteran presence, so I can see them keeping CoJo around until next year’s trade deadline where he would have more value on an expiring deal.

If Joseph does get moved, he’ll likely be salary filler in a bigger deal.
