Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham vs. Scottie Barnes

This was an important game for the Rookie of the Year race, as it featured two of the frontrunners in Cade Cunningham and Scottie Barnes.

Both guys played well and even defended each other at times, and both have been on a tear of late with Barnes named the Rookie of the Month for February just before the game.

But Cade got the better of this matchup scoring 22 points and adding 12 rebounds, five assists, a block and two steals while committing just one turnover. He also added a key defensive play late in the game to help the Pistons seal it.

Barnes had a good game as well, notching 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, a block and steal while committing three turnovers with far less usage.

Ultimately, this award is still probably Even Mobley’s to lose, but with the Cavaliers struggling lately and both Cade and Barnes coming on, this race could come down to the last few games and may end up being one of the tightest RoY races of all time.

One thing is for certain, this rookie class is very good and is sure to produce several All-Stars.
