The Detroit Pistons: Best bet in the NBA

If you have been reading my gambling articles (if not, why aren’t you?), then you know that I have been pushing the Detroit Pistons as the best bet in basketball.

Yes, those Detroit Pistons.

You have to go all the way back to February 11th to find a game where Detroit got blown out, and they are an incredible 14-0-1 against the spread in their last 15 games.

The books haven’t seemed to figure this out and continue to give the Pistons high, often double-digit spreads that they are covering every game.

This is great from a gambler’s perspective but is also a good indication of the growth of this young team, which was getting regularly blown out at the beginning of the season.

They aren’t there yet, but Detroit is learning how to compete and hopefully soon win close games, and doing it mostly behind the young core of Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart.

We knew this was going to be a rebuilding year, so fans were really just hoping for a competitive, scrappy team that continued to show improvement all season and that is exactly what they have gotten.

This team is very close to being good, and with the right offseason additions, could be the Cleveland Cavaliers of next season, the team that makes the leap from the cellar to the playoffs.
