Detroit Pistons draft: Options for the 36th pick

Guards

The Detroit Pistons need depth pretty much everywhere, but especially at shooting guard, where they had Cory Joseph starting for much of the season.

There are several names who would be fits on the Pistons.

Bryce McGowens: Shooting guard from Nebraska who would give the Pistons a big guard at 6-foot-6 who rebounds and has big upside on the offensive end, though his long-range numbers in his freshman season were terrible. ESPN had the Pistons taking McGowens in their latest mock draft.

Jaden Hardy: It’s possible that Hardy will be gone by the time the Detroit Pistons pick, but he’s a guy they have scouted and might be a trade-up candidate if he falls into the second round. There were a lot of Pistons watching him work out this offseason, which makes me think there might be something there, especially if Weaver knew this exact Grant trade was coming.

Max Christie: Another big shooting guard that we have profiled as a possibility for the Pistons in the second round. He is a raw prospect but has plenty of upside, though he needs to put on some strength and improve as a 3-point shooter.
