Detroit Pistons draft: Options for the 36th pick

Bigs

I am using the term bigs here instead of centers, as one of these guys is more of a tweener who can play both spots.

Jaylin Williams: I love Jaylin Williams from Arkansas, who has the type of game that might make an impact right away for the Detroit Pistons. He is very athletic, blocks shots, has active hands and runs the floor well in transition. He doesn’t have an array of offensive skills, but would be a glue guy who grabs rebounds, runs and plays above the rim, which is something the Pistons need.

He’s another guy who may not fall this far, but he would potentially fill a need for Detroit.

Christian Koloko: One of the tallest guys in the 2022 NBA Draft, Koloko is another guy who would give the Pistons a much-needed boost of rim protection, as he blocked 2.8 shots per game for Arizona this season. He is highly efficient around the rim, and though his offensive game is raw, he is very athletic and runs the floor with the intent to catch lobs and finish, which is something Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes could use.

Koloko has flashed a mid-range game, as you can see in these highlights, and also shoots 73 percent from the line, so he’s a guy who could develop a shot down the road, but for now projects as a rim runner who will block shots and catch lobs.
