Detroit Pistons in free agency: Option #3

Miles Bridges

On paper, Bridges is probably now the best free-agent fit, as the Detroit Pistons could put him into the starting lineup and roll out a group that looked like this:

  • Cade Cunningham
  • Jaden Ivey
  • Miles Bridges
  • Saddiq Bey
  • Isaiah Stewart

That is a pretty fun and talented team, but it’s pretty unlikely to happen. The Hornets are reportedly trying to clear cap space in order to retain Bridges, though there have also been reports that they are balking at the idea of giving him the full max.

If the latter is the case, then Detroit might move in, as Bridges seems like their kind of guy, a hard-nosed, tough player who puts in the work on both ends and can shoot the 3-ball.

Of the top guys, Bridges is probably the best fit, but it will come down to him and the Hornets, as they can offer more years and money than the Pistons.

But if the Hornets decide to move on, Detroit could swoop in and Bridges might relish the chance to play in his home state for a team that suddenly looks on the precipice of being very good.
