If there is one thing that gets fans of the Detroit Pistons fired up, it’s the release of a new uniform.

We saw it earlier this offseason, when the team revealed that they would be bringing back the teal uniforms. I don’t particularly like them, but to be honest, I don’t care if they play in potato sacks as long as I see some wins next season.

That wasn’t the case for many fans, who went to war over the teal in one of the least consequential debates in the history of debate.

So far there are three uniforms in the rotation for next season, the association whites, the icon blues and the “classic” teal, as the Pistons have yet to reveal what city editions they will be wearing next season, hopefully a return of last year’s reds, which most fans seemed to like.

But according to one Detroit rapper, there may be a surprise jersey dropping in October.

Detroit Pistons uniforms: Surprise jersey dropping in October?

The Detroit Pistons have been trying to include more local rappers and artists in team events and according to Big Sean, his contribution may be seen on the court soon.

The Detroit rapper already has his logo on Pistons’ practice jerseys, and according to his Instagram, has designed a uniform that will be unveiled in October (the original post said next month but that was clarified).

Big Sean is the Pistons’ Creative Director of Innovation, and you might remember a limited edition jersey that mostly popped up in promotional videos and select stores online.

The first collaboration got mixed reviews, as some liked the Detroit themes while others thought it looked too much like a NASCAR driver covered in ads.

Whatever Big Sean has planned, I am sure it will be unique and will have Pistons’ fans arguing for days, and he has piqued my interest by saying that it will be a “whole new look.”

We will have to wait until October to find out, but it appears the Pistons aren’t finished shaking things up this offseason when it comes to uniforms.
